Games that require multiple playthroughs
I was curious to know which games you all thought had the most replay value. I'm not talking about games that are played over and over because you can't get enough of it, i.e. the addictive ones, lol. I'm talking about games that actually create incentives to play through again and again, i.e. KOTOR's multiple endings.

I would say Chrono Trigger but this would technically be the wrong sub-forum for that.
So I will instead say, Chrono Cross.

Deus Ex had multiple different plot lines; although they still adhered to the main over-arching story line.

Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen has high play value. There's a lot of endings, and you can experiment with building your army units out of different classes.

Re: Games that require multiple playthroughs
Some adventure games from the late 90s offered multiple endings. The Pandora Directive and Blade Runner for example. Another one is The Ripper but aside from Chistropher Walken there's no reason to even touch that game, as it's dated pretty badly.
There's also the one-on-one fighting genre where each character gets his or her own ending. Soul Calibur used to be the prime example but now it's just tired.

GB lists 474 games with multiple endings. Have fun with that

I played the first three Tony Hawk games through with every character, I use to put hours into those gems.
Fighters I always get out a piece of paper and write down who I have finished them with until I complete the game with everyone.

Re: Games that require multiple playthroughs
I don't play games again, its a waste of time, because there are other games that needs to be experience, unless you are dedicated to any 1 game.
but games that I believe that needs a replay are rpg , that got many routes to the game. For example, in Jade Empire you can choose to be a good guy or a bad guy, and things will be different so that kind of needs 2 play throughs.
Maybe games where you can play as different races, only if the experience will be different, not just the 3d model.
and for me, I believe one of the most re playable games, are fighters. Because once its over, you start again and choose another character and you learn a whole new set of moves and watch different endings. And there are like at least 6 characters and sometimes tens of them.

Basically like other posters, pretty much RPGs fill that category via other characters, play styles or story paths. On a recent note, Heavy Rain has something like 22 or 24 endings.
I do agree with the other post saying there isn't enough time to replay because there are so many good games out there!

I played through every Quest for Glory game with every character class. It doesn't make much difference to the plot, but you can solve the puzzles different ways with different skills that different characters have. Those games are so good.
