As the title above explains, I recently picked up Wachenroder, and am having a blast with it. However, even though it seems to save the data, it never lets me pick the continue option after I shut off and come back to the system. For reference, I am playing on a US model 2 Saturn with an Action Replay 4m plus cartridge, and have a save for the game on both the system memory and the action replay card itself. A check at it shows 166 of something is being stored, but I can't access said data. Any help in this area would be very appreciated, as I am still new to the saturn.
edit: For further reference, I have owned the cart for only a month now after getting it from Play-asia. The last save I made for the game was from about 3 weeks back. Hope that helps. Also, the saturn internal battery is 3 months old but perfectly functioning.

Re: Trouble accessing saves for Jp imports with my Sega Saturn
Other people have reported the on board memory acting funny when the system battery is low. I'd say copy all the saves off the machine onto the 4 in 1, then check if the battery is nearly dead. New batteries are 3 volts. It it is at less than 1.5 volts, I'd probably just go ahead and replace it. When you put it back in (or a new one), there should be a button in there to reset the memory. Not sure if you're supposed to press it with the system on or off. Then try copying stuff back from the cart and try again.

Just checked it, battery works fine, and I copied all the files to the 4 in 1, but I can't find the memory reset button you were talking about. I assume it's not the game reset button, so would it be in the bay where the internal battery is? I checked the bay, but I'm not seeing anything recognizable.

Yeah, if your Saturn has the reset, it will be a blue/gray rubber switch in there next to the battery. Some models don't have it though and I can't remember which at the moment. Did you actually pull the battery out and check the voltage on it? If its low, it can make the Saturn act strangely. Just be sure you've copied everything to the cart before pulling it out or resetting.Retrozoa wrote:Just checked it, battery works fine, and I copied all the files to the 4 in 1, but I can't find the memory reset button you were talking about. Re: Trouble accessing saves for Jp imports with my Sega Saturn
Ok, from what I've seen, the high score data for my other jp games work just fine, so I think it might be a corrupted save file for Wachenroder. That or I saved it wrong(possible, since I cant read japanese).
Wait, just tested it, ok it was corrupted save data. Works fine now. Sorry about that.
