I also really liked him in Four Brothers. Not exactly Oscar material, but it was an enjoyable romp, and every now and again a friend will shout "I got kids!" when meleeing someone to death in an FPS at LAN parties I attend.Pulsar_t wrote:Mark Wahlberg isn't a bad actor but he's no Matt Damon either. His best performance is still the one in Three Kings. I liked him in The Happening and Max Payne, despite those being naff movies.. And there's always The Departed of course.

I liked The Four Brothers too!

Virtuality. A pilot for a somewhat promising scifi series that Fox decided to turn down (surprise surprise). The filming reminded me of BSG, but since the theme here is VR it could have made an interesting premise.

After you watch a few Herzog/Kinski movies, make sure you watch the documentary about their incredibly troubled relationship "My Best Fiend". It's really amazing they could even stay in the same room together, let alone make brilliant movies.Pulsar_t wrote:
Woyzeck. This is the first of Werner Herzog's 70s movies that I've watched, and having learned it's based on an incomplete 19th century play I must say he did an excellent job considering the film was done within 18 days.
If this was the "weakest" of the Herzog/Kinski collaborations I'm expecting to be amazed by the others!

Thanks will keep it in mind. What other well known director/actor animosities resulted in brilliant movies? Blade Runner is the only one I can think of.

I saw Kickass. I really enjoyed this one. The production team did a really good job with the music.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
The Jacket, cuz somehow I got Adrien Brody on the brain. Now, I haven't the whole thing yet, but I plan on finishing it soon. Also, out of the King Kong remake and The Darjeeling Express, which Brody film should I watch next? I have King Kong on DVD, but wanted to see the original first. And TDE would involve a rental.
Abd I wanna see Kickass, but I gotta hope the movie theatre in town gets it this week.

Watch the original before you watch the remake. I've heard nothing but criticism for the remake of King Kong.REPO Man wrote:The Jacket, cuz somehow I got Adrien Brody on the brain. And I also want to see Kickass, but it's banned from my local theater chain.

I love the original King Kong, and even like the 1979 remake. I know I'm in the minority, but I really loved the Peter Jackson King Kong. I think it probably is better if you've seen and love the original.Ack wrote: Watch the original before you watch the remake. I've heard nothing but criticism for the remake of King Kong.
