Apparently the Silent Hill game for Wii does this as you play and adjusts the appearence/attitudes of other characters throughout the game. I've played it for a while and didn't notice anything changing, but then I've only play it through once.Pulsar_t wrote:How about a game that can import your physical attributes directly? And for example if you're not fit enough you have to do a quick training session in-game to get in shape. And to add another layer of complexity, how about the game conducting a clever survey of your personality and adjusting itself and your in-game role accordingly?
On the other hand..

Was it F.A.K.K. where the designer got his mug scanned and adapted it to the heroine or am I thinking of another game? Drakan maybe?
Or it could be a silly rumour I once read somewhere.

One style of video games that I really miss nowadays are the adventure/exploration racing games. I am talking about games like Rush 2; San Francisco Rush 2049; and Beetle Adventure Racing. I had a really fun time playing these games, alas I don't think any games like these have come out in a long time

asking too much.Niode wrote:Seriously though, I'd just like to have a game that is a seamless experience, no glitches or stupid clipping issues would be nice.
I would be excited for a game that is able to recognize and incorporate other devices on my network into the game play.
for example... playing a horror game my character walks into a dark room. He looks at one small television covered in blood turn on and then a couple more until slowly the room is flooded with light. Then my computer wakes up from sleep mode displaying the monitor covered in blood. Then my phone calls me and it is some kind of weird "call from within the house" kinda thing. Then my IP address gets pinged and a letter from an ingame character gets mailed to me giving me clues or expanding on the game somehow.
You know- something like that would be really fun.

Actually there was a game that did something like that, though I believe it was more of a mystery adventure game. It would send you emails and such. Can't remember the name, though.

yeah. I remember hearing about it. I wish they pushed that envelope a little more. I feel like games can do a lot more now a days then they ever could. Rather than just make another fps it would be cool to have oddball games like this.Ack wrote:Actually there was a game that did something like that, though I believe it was more of a mystery adventure game. I wanna virtual reality helmet!
Or something where you put various censors around your room, and they would display 3d holographic images, so you would be in the game [/fairytale land]

Virtual reality WILL happen one day. And on that day, video games as we know it will dieBlackDS wrote:I wanna virtual reality helmet!

Before that happens though, video games will go all digital with nothing for us to really own anymore. Paying money for...essentially nothing other than a file. Thats sucks too
Thank god for retro gaming, cause I don't like where the industry is heading. Eventually, the day will come where I pretty much ONLY buy and play old games as gaming as I knew it inevitably dies.
