Still not clear if just one input and console. Did you try the other inputs and different cables?
As for generalized Sony bashing, save that for the crappy PS3.
I love my rare Sony HD 4:3 CRT WEGA. Beats any LCD.
A perfect HD 4:3 screen for retro and last gens!

The first part was sarcasm...sneth wrote:Niode wrote:The problem right there is that it's a Sony. Best just junking it and buying something better.
Also. 32inch 1080p? That's completely pointless, you won't see any benefit of having 1080p on such a small screen.
this post was worthless. I'd expect more from a mod.
Sony makes adequate TV's, and 32inch is perfect for a smaller bedroom...etc...
who cares if he can see 1080p....
The second part is still valid. 1080p is completely useless on a TV 32" or smaller. You can't tell the difference (as explained earlier). The extra money spent on 1080p @ 32" could have gone to something else. Let me try and explain further. 32" LCD 720p TV would be about £200-300 in this country. 32" LCD 1080p TV would be about £300-400. So the extra £100-200 is completely wasted. You could have spent that on a basic surround sound set up. Or you could have bought a plasma...

So is it the TV or the input/cables from game console?
I don't know why everyone is hooked on LCDs.
No screen refresh delay on CRT or Plasma.
Check my LCD vs CRT signature post.

This is mainly limited by the speed of their video processing engine rather than by the time it takes to fire the display phosphor; this is in the order of nano-seconds as against the milliseconds required for the liquid crystals to change state in LCD panels. In this respect, LCD panels still have a long way to go.
Yet, there is a further technical difference between the two technologies that renders plasma superior when it comes to pixel response time. Control of pixel intensity in a plasma display does not rely on the same drive process used in an LCD panel. In an LCD display, a minor adjustment in pixel intensity level is brought about by altering the drive signal in very small steps to adjust the twisting action of the liquid crystals, and which in turn controls the amount of light reaching the surface.

Or maybe he bought it used for a super price, or it was a closeout model that was cheaper than a newer 720p, or it was a gift. Who cares? The fact is, that is the model that he has, and he has asked for help with a problem with it.Niode wrote:The second part is still valid. 1080p is completely useless on a TV 32" or smaller. I think what you need to learn is that my posts aren't an open attack on somebody. They should be read as a PSA. I just want to make people aware that certain things are merely marketing tricks to add non-existent value to a product.Jimmy Yakapucci wrote:Or maybe he bought it used for a super price, or it was a closeout model that was cheaper than a newer 720p, or it was a gift.
