tenchu on the wii
anyone played it? i enjoyed the crap out of it. i feel that, aside from the tank-like movement control and the oddly missing wiimote aiming, they really did a great job with implementing motion controls. no waggling, just directional input to make the stealth killing feel like a ninja move. the combat was exactly what is should be too. also, using the wiimote to roll between shadowy bushes and to use items... it seems like more developers should take some notes from this, though they won't... 'cuz tenchu is not loved as much as it should be.

I don't have a Wii, but I might look into this if I get one. I'm a Tenchu fan and I don't intend on ever purchasing a Wii to play stupid party games, gimmick titles and exercise boards.

oddly enough, i basically bought a wii so i could follow the tenchu series

Control-wise the game is good. I'm personally not enjoying it too much but that's due to my own fault; I wasn't expecting the stealth to be quite so unforgiving (I usually dislike forced stealth "no, you are NOT badass enough to just kill everything if they see you").

if you find all the hidden map pieces, you get an indestructible sword (or 2 short swords for Ayame) and you can fight everyone if you want. unfortunately they are stupid hard to find (some of them) and the only guide i found on it is wrong about one of 'em. I got all Ayame's map pieces and her swords but there's one highly elusive piece in Rikimaru's game.

The sword fighting in that game is pretty ass, though.optmusprimenumber wrote:if you find all the hidden map pieces, you get an indestructible sword (or 2 short swords for Ayame) and you can fight everyone if you want. unfortunately they are stupid hard to find (some of them) and the only guide i found on it is wrong about one of 'em. I was just playing Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven on my PS2 last night. I've always enjoyed it

Re: tenchu on the wii
it's different... the controls are a bit more like resident evil 4, the grappling hook is gone (you get used to not being so roof oriented)... every stage is sort of a stealth puzzle... it's really different, but it's also fun and inexpensive. by the by, if you can find it, Tenchu: Fatal Shadows for the ps2 is a somewhat slicker successor to wrath of heaven and a personal favorite.
