hahaha, I feel like I have to explain myself every few months when there's a TR game with no GB/GBC/GBA/Gamecube port...

I just decided a long, long time ago that I had to have a cut-off somewhere. I decided to pick one console (namely: Gamecube with Game Boy Player) and stick to collecting games for one console. Otherwise, I would just want every game ever. A couple years back I was into emulation, but all I did was download ROM's and play them for two minutes and then move on to something else. I decided it was way more fun to pick a system and just collect games for that one system. Most months, Together Retro is an excuse for me to purchase a GB game I've never tried before. Some months like this though, it isn't. So be it. (Although technically it still is, because I usually find a game that is very closely related somehow, and play that instaed on my own). And as far as the no-PC games thing, it's just my personal thing.... I work ALL DAY on a computer. When I'm at home, I basically use my computer to read up on stuff, and post on here, etc. I try to just keep my computer very light and functional. I don't think of it as a game-machine. I just do'nt want to fill up my computer with games. It just doesn't appeal to me.

That's actually a totally reasonable choice. You have access to a ton of great games with minimal hardware requirements.

Too bad there isn't a GameCube version of X-Com: UFO Defense (or Terror From the Deep) though, because they are awesome games. Graphics don't hold up well, but the tactical squad gameplay is just as tense now as it's always been.

Sorry noiseredux for seeming nosey, you actually have a very good point which I've been thinking about myself for a while now. It seems every time I go into a game shop I feel like i needt o grab as many games as I can. Sometimes I'm seriously worried it'll turn into some sort of addiction or that I'll end up buying a ton of games and never play them.

I respect your choice.

I also bought the $2 bundle on Steam a few months back, so maybe I'll start playing for this month.

I'll be playing this one. I installed it on my laptop a while back, but other games distracted me. This is a good reason to give it another chance. I've been on a shmup kick recently, so it'll be a nice change of pace. I didn't play this one back in the day, so it'll be all new for me. I'm partial to this era of DOS gaming, and tactical games are great so I have high expectations.

What makes it strange to other people is the "I refuse to install games on my PC" part. With consoles the explanation is as simple as "I don't own that console" and it's up to you whether or not you want to get it. With the PC you already have it (what with the forum posting at all hours) so it's hard to fathom why you wouldn't install old PC games (so there'd be no hardware req problems).
