I'd argue that Zero doesn't need to kill everyone to be created as an evil robot. Heck, maybe he just kills Bass and Wily.Gamerforlife wrote:After creating this topic I find out that the creator of the series said that Zero did not kill off the original Megaman crew. I think that's lame. It seems to go against everything the MMX series implied. It also makes Zero less interesting, not having a dark past. Makes his conflict over what he is a lot less dramatic, but why am I expecting good storytelling from Capcom? Their MO is to create a good story, then kill it. Look at the crap that is Resident Evil 5's story, which is suppossed to be the final chapter, before the series reboot

That would be awesome actually. There are clues throughout the MMX series of Wily still being around in some non-human form and being obsessed with everything Zero does. I love the idea of him "haunting" Zero after being killed by him and trying to re-awaken Zero's original programing(proven effective by the manner of his own death)to destroy X in a last ditch effort from beyond the grave to outdo Dr. Light and leave his mark on the world by destroying its only savior(Mega Man X)as Zero and Sigma plunge it into chaosMrPopo wrote:I'd argue that Zero doesn't need to kill everyone to be created as an evil robot. And they already laid the groundwork for a fatal Bass/Zero confrontation in Megaman 2: The Power Fighters. Quoted from Wikipedia:
Zero makes a cameo appearance, and Wily says that it is a creation that will surpass even Bass itself. Bass says that he will destroy this creation, and that no other robot is more powerful than he is. It's not explained what happened to Bass before the events of the Mega Man X.
Now tell me there isn't an EPIC cutscene just waiting to happen right there. Even better than the Zero vs Sigma cutscene from Megaman X4.
