And I guess this question can go for the 360 too.
Lately I find more games having optional installs to the HD, and they're supposed to help with load times and whatnot.
Do you spend the time and gigs to install your games optionally? I just spend about 8-10 minutes installing Resonance of Fate, and I guess it runs pretty smoothly, but people said load times are quick to begin with, so did I need it? I guess since I'm going to spend a lot of time with it I may as well, though.

I look at it this way: You might as well. If you really NEED the hard drive space, you can always delete games you're not currently playing.

My idea is that it's gentler on the laser.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I'm usually thinking that for older console (I want them to last as long as possible) but not so much with current gen hardware. But yeah, a great point.Droid party wrote:My idea is that it's gentler on the laser.

I usually do install my games on PS3 to help overall performance of games loading times and to help lessen stress on system from reading discs.

Re: Do you install games on your PS3?
If given the choice, I always go for an install.
Playing older consoles, lasers are always the first thing to go. If I can get a few extra years out of that, I will.
Generally speaking I'm only ever playing 1-2 games at a time. If space becomes tight, I can always delete things I'm not currently playing (or upgrade the hard disk, which is more likely in my PS3). I'm going to give it a few years, and whack in a whopping big SSD to shatter those load times.

Basically I have used to install game on my PS3.It would be so much stress on over loading disc.So i CAN usually do install games on PS3.It could be consume less time and So i am really happy with it.
Re: Do you install games on your PS3?
Do the install, game will load a lot faster. I do this on the PS2 with HD Advance.
Games load very quick on a menu driven hard drive and no more swapping game discs.

Ever play SF4 online? You can very quickly tell who has the game installed and who doesn't.
