If I FTP my xbox to d/l games off my computer can my xbox get a virus and kill the harddrive? I'm thinking the answer is yes

That is so hilarious, the xbox can get a virus. That would be way more funny than 360 red ring. The first console to get virus is funny.

the xbox does not have a file system that is under attack to hackers. only things you gotta worry about is file corruption and bad sectors.

Not only that, when you mod it, and FTP in, there is no safe guarding or checking what files you are editting. Unlike Windows or OSX, the XBOX is not gonna tell you "Hey, don't delete that, I need that", so if you delete a needed folder, it's gone.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

So don't go deleting system files, it's easy.
Seriously don't worry about something like a xbox virus, if it were going to happen they would have been around years ago. And it's not like it's going to pick up something froma windows virus either. You're being paranoid about a total non issue.

It's entirely possible in principle for someone to write a virus for an Xbox. However, I am not aware of any that actually exist. Viruses have to be written specifically for the software they target, and there's little reason to target an Xbox.
