Headaches with HDTV?

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

I'm not sure what it is, but lately whenever I play my PS3, or watch movies in 1080p (and i), I have been getting massive headaches. However, using my Xbox with component cables at 480p on the same TV's yeild none of these problems (Outrun 2 is absolutely beautiful on an HD set at 480p by the way). Anyway, does anybody else experience this? Also, it seems to be worse on games that utilize a lot of motion blur (Uncharted). However, my computer screen does not give me these headaches at all. I think I may just be going insane.

Are you watching it atleast 24 inches away? Is the tv above 52 inches?(If so adjust ratio) Maybe you have problems with high frame rates?

I've heard of that with DLP tv's because of the flickering color wheel projector thingy. Do you wear glasses? Maybe you need to. . .

I do, they don't seem to effect whether I get a headache though.

Interesting. I have a similar issue with some games that run at 60fps with a lot of motion. It makes me feel queezy. Borderlands does the same for me too. It varies from game to game.

Are you lacking sleep? If not, are you getting good sleep?

So just watch it at 720p or 480p. Pic still looks fine and save your eyes from the slow screen draws.
