Found an AWESOME new game store on the edge of Minneapolis. It's called Media Traderz and they pride themselves on selling old and and new games that are in excellent condition for a fair price. I walked in and COULD NOT BELIEVE all the hard-to-find PS1 titles and original Xbox games that they had! I told the owner that it was the best game store that I've ever seen. Finally, a game store done right! :D

Got a RROD 360 with power brick and component cable for $32+10 shipping yesterday. It was supposed to be an HDMI unit, but they messed up and sent me a non HDMI one. I'm supposed to be getting a $10 refund for that mistake. They had already tried an X clamp fix per the listing, but I opened it up and they had put 2 washers on each screw under the board instead of between the board and heatsinks and the board was warping from being tightened this way. The GPU made a little bit of noise when I was carefully unscrewing the heatsink but I redid the thermal compound, fixed the washers, baked for 20 minutes and cooled, and it ran a few hours fine last night and today. It still had the 6717 dash on it when I got it going. Still have to get a controller and I'm using a 2 gig flash drive for storage, but hey, $32 360 with cords. :D

Got Action Fighter, Magic of Schererazade, and Pitfall for $11.

All sealed new copies. The 360 games were $5 each and Return to Krondor was $14 shipped.

I already have the Genesis game but I couldn't resist picking it up at that price.

Edit: Actually there is only one 360 isn't there? I mean the two console games.

i told this story in another thread, but i got into an argument with a guy at work about the value of excite bike. he bought it for .50 at a salvation army and was adamant in the fact that "gamestop" was selling it for "eighty fah dollahs." i pulled up vgpc on my phone, explained how extremely common retro games like excite bike typically don't hold a high market value, told him he was a fucking idiot and, well, he didn't like that.
