The only other way would be to take the unit apart and find out where some of the traces go from the 4 pin din. If they go into a chip, voltage regulator, anything. Go online and search for the data sheet to see which pin of the component requires power. Thats basically the only way.
Finding the grounds will be the easiest, finding which are the 5v/12v lines (or wahtever the unit uses I have no idea) will be the hardest if you don't follow the traces, basically you have a 50/50 chance if you guess which I do not suggest.
Or if your lucky, the traces on the board will be labeled... if that's the case you can jump in glee.
