v64 Power Adapter Replacement

I just recently bought a Doctor v64 Backup Unit for my N64, with the only caveat being that the power adapter's pins are damaged beyond immediate repair. But the system uses an s-video plug for power [weird, I know], so I can just solder a working one onto the old cable. However, I'm soldering it right now, but two of the cable colors don't match up. On the power adapter end, the wires are brown and blue, but on the s-video plug end, they're green and black. I'm afraid to continue, so does anybody here know what to do?

I have an old external CD burner that uses a power adapter that looks exactly like SVIDEO. The burner is garbage. What voltage do you need? If they match up I'll let you have the power adapter for price of shipping.

Gotta be careful mixing wires from different sources. Black, white, red, and green have standard meanings when relating to power if there is only one voltage being sent. However if there is say 5 volt and a 9 volt, which may be the case since they are using a power connector with a plug like that. Need to be very sure of what pin does what.

I would have stripped the old connector making note of which pin goes to what wire and then wired it up to a new 4-pin minidin (AKA svideo) connector using those notes. Since it sounds like you didn't take this precaution you may be up shit-creak. Finding another power adaptor for one of those is going to be pretty tricky due to their rarity.

The red is probably the negative for the +12 white and the brown is probably the negative for the +5 blue. So if this is correct, you can try matching it up with the wires on the other power supply and cross your fingers.

I hope you got it for a really good price since those units typically go for $200+. I think a better option would have been the NeoMyth 64

No because this isn't a standard 4 pin mini din used for video. It's used for power so you need to know where which pin goes to where otherwise, if you wire it up wrong you'll most likely blow the entire system especially if you send a 12v down a 5v line.

He can't really use a volt meter. It has no power. He could use the continuity check to verify which labeled pin goes to which wire.
