Yes - some years for the better, some years for the worse.

For example, I really didn't care for Madden 2009 (too much crap with the right analog stick) - but Madden 2010 downplayed that stuff and feels like the best Madden so far. On the other hand, I've missed the ambulance and some of the "classic teams" for years. Basically, you are best with the later Maddens for systems when they are current - when the dev teams finally get everything up to speed and before they starts focusing their efforts on next-gen hardware . This is why Madden 95 or 96 would be a better bet for the Genesis thnt Madden 97 would be, why Madden 2000 would be a better PS1 bet than Madden 2002 would be, etc.

What astonishes me is that they both add and take out features from year to year. At this point, they really should just give you the option to customize the rules/control/etc. to the nth degree to make it fit your own preferences. They tinker too much with a good thing sometimes.

Ok, this update will do it for the rest of the year. I'll re-document stuff in 2011!

Impressive music collection! Also, I couldn't help but notice that you own the "Four Rooms" DVD. The end of that movie is probably one of my favorite scenes ever!

I have the JApanese version of the Acclaim wireless NES controller.
I didn't know it was released in the USA, too.
They are made by Seta Japan

The connection port on the bottom is so you can add a 2nd controller...
That way you don't have to buy two wireless controllers, just tether one on there as shown.

Anyway, just thought you'd be interested.

Thanks! That is pretty cool - I had never seen that version before.

The Acclaim one does NOT have the port on it to attach another controller. But since it's a pretty poor wireless controller in the first place, I don't really ever use it.

I've heard good things about the Satellite and have considered picking one up, but am worried that it will chew threw those six C batteries quite quickly...

I had an NES satellite back in the day. The battery life wasn't too bad actually. Range was the big problem. According to that wikipedia article you linked,
The Satellite allowed up to four players to play the NES anywhere in the room
"Anywhere in the room" is a big exaggeration. I could only make mine work reliably a few feet from the console. I'd say the maximum distance is probably three or four feet.
