Not really. I'm in the process of taking a game from a 256-color setup to a nearly limitless color setup. While I am having to redo a lot of stuff, many of the things that looked fine in 256 I can leave that way.ZeroAX wrote:still it's always easy to shave off stuff (at least compared to building it)
However, if I were downgrading from the limitless to the 256-color limit, EVERYTHING would have to be overhauled - because just forgetting to convert one thing would screw it up.
Also, if SE just haphazardly downgraded everything, it would look terrible - and that takes away a large portion of why most folks play a Final Fantasy game these days. It would have to be very careful, very precise work. While they'd be fully aware they couldn't make it as good, they'd also be fully aware that they would be held to the same standard as "The Last Story", which looks phenomenal.
