do you read book based on video game?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I read the Doom books. The first one actually followed the game to the point you could name levels off the descriptions in different chapters.

I've read most of the Halo novels, which I enjoyed. As long as you like the concept behind the video game, the books should be interesting to you. That and a good author helps, too. Haha. Also, I read a few Starcraft novels that I liked as well. So I would say find a video game you like that has novels based on it and you will probably like the novels.

I have a few of the old "Worlds of Power" books. I know I've read "Blaster Master" and "Simon's Quest" at least a couple of times each. They weren't great, but they were fun.

There were also a couple of "Might and Magic" books in the mid-nineties. I think they were licensed books, but didn't really have anything to do with the games. I actually really enjoyed them, but there was supposed to be a third one that never came out.

I often read book I think SHOULD be made into videogame. Like the Master and Commander series.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I read Halo:Fall of Reach. The prequel for the first game i think. Was pretty good in describing the origin of master chief.

I read the first Starcraft book and liked it, but that was back in probably middle school, so I don't really know how I'd feel about it now.

I read a Warcraft novel when I was into Warcraft III. Of course, the rich mythology of the game mean that the novel had a lot of substance, and I enjoyed it a lot. I've always assumed that books based on more action orientated games would be a bit pants. I've read the one based off Perfect Dark Zero, and that was quite pants.

However, I'm thinking about getting one of the Gears or War books as I would like to see what could be done with a story like that.

Furthermore, has anyone read any graphic novels based on games? There's been quite a few!

When I was in elementary school I read a novel based on Mega Man. I don't remember if it was any good though.

And recently someone is attempting to translate the novel based on Mother 2 (EarthBound). LINK HERE. Can't wait to read that one.
