Not on my TV. Service menu, only screen movement allowed is TILT CORRECTION. No horizontal/vertical slide or zoom. Manual adjustments are inside back of TV. I don't think I'm gonna move 200 pound TV every time I want to fine tweak screen size settings.

Each has its own personality. With a high-quality SD set (the kind you can use a light-gun with). The most you might ever have to do on most of these is adjust the brightness/contrast and perhaps use a degaussing coil on them (can get these on ebay).

With the HD CRTs, there are more things to watch out for. After three years of research, I still stand by my original assertion in this post that the best one for the money is the Sony KV-34HS420. The only real problem I've had to deal with on this one is the anti-reflective coating that is coming off (very common in this model). So I have used a little soft-scrub, and finished it off and now the set is superb.

The XRBs, mentioned in this group are very nice, but so often have serious technical problems - like failure to turn on.

Other great options, if you find one for a good price, are the Leowe Anaconda, or the Panasonic Tau series.

Whatever model you wind-up with, if you can get it really cheap, it is worth getting it looked at and realigned as you will be able to use it probably 3 times as long as modern flat-panel displays and will be seeing your games in the best form possible.
Thanks for the info.

Doing a bit of reading about the coating. Seems really common. Is it really easy to take it all off without damaging the glass?

Is there any input lag when its upconverting 240p/480i to 960i and ps3 to 1080i? Not sure if it can "natively" display 720p and the ps3 doesn't scale like the 360 can.

The coating comes off very easily and unless you use Comet, or some other extreme clensor, it is really not likely to damage the glass. Just take your time. A good combination is rubbing alcahol and baking soda on a soft cotton cloth.

As for upconverting, I have seen NO LAG at all. I play a lot of fighting games and it works superbly even when the action gets crazy - like in Street Fighter III or King of Fighters '98. Just remember to keep the DRC Mode (for viewing 480i and other older content) on 'Interlaced'. Doesn't work nearly as well when you select Progressive or Cinemotion.

For 480p, 720p or 1080i content, just send it in as it comes out of the machine. I play the 360 in 1080i all the time, but when I put the old XBox into it with 'Cold Fear" running in 720p, looked totally stunning, so if your machine doesn't scale, no worries.

As stated in previous posts, don't overlook S-Video or Composite video either on this set. It has a top-notch digital 3D comb filter and the DRC Mode works like magic. Everything from Atari to Xbox 360 looks magnificent. Just make sure to have some buddies help you move it - VERY Heavy!!!!

Watch Craigslist and ebay. There are some every other week.

I just brought one of these "babies" home today... holy hell is it huge and heavy (even bigger than I imagined). Make sure you take a rolling cart for this bad boy, it makes life a lot easier  The model I got was the KV-34HS420N; apparently the only difference between this TV and the OP is that, according to Wikipedia, it does not have the anti-glare screen coating from the standard KV-34HS420. Now I'm trying to find a stand/center sturdy enough to hold this beast up and get all the cables

Congrats - these are sure great. Still lovin mine!!! I am kinda jealous though as mine did have the troublesome anti-reflection coating and I had to peel it off - kinda sucked, but this is truly one Fabulous line of TVs!!
