My friend has appx. 12 rubbermaid bins filled w/new and sealed Figures, ships, posters, shampoo bottles, etc and is looking for a place to sell them. I don't know of anything other than ebay and it doesn't look like it does too well there...if anyone knows of a better site, please post for us.
Thanks!
Anyone know of a Good Star Wars Memorabilia Website

wookiepedia might have a forum. I'd just search "star wars forums buy sell".

Man, that sucks. If his stuff isn't going for much on ebay, it's not likely to be worth much anywhere else. My advice would be to research how much each individual item is going for, sell the items that are worth selling on ebay or some forum, and give the rest to a good kids charity. Probably not the answer you're looking for, but the other option is to sell everything in huge lots and he'll end up shipping a ton of stuff and selling a lot of things for pennies. It's a bitter pill to swallow either way, but at least giving to charity he can tell himself it's for a good cause.
Collectibles are a bad investment. I've been there.

Thanks...yeah, I helped him do some star wars ebay research, the stuff he has sells and sells often, but generally say 1 figure for $7 and shipping...he has 300 figures all new/sealed, and then just an insane amount of other stuff (posters, blankets, cereal boxes, ships, etc). What he wants is to sell all at once, the way I see it he can get about $4K cleared by selling 1 item at a time, or probably $2,500 all at once...obviously he wants what we all want, $4k all at once. I told him i'd peek around for dealers or other star wars websites to see if there were folks who bought entire collections....buy it looks like what I feared, either put in the time and do it slowly, or take the loss and be done w/it.

Maybe try craigslist to avoid the pain of shipping. He'd still have to take the $ hit if he wants to sell it in one lot, though. Good luck. It sounds like your friend at least bought decent stuff.

For $50 I'll pose nude in carbonite.

There just really isn't a market for the modern figures. So many people kept them in the packages thinking they would put their kids through college with them. The value on them really stays at just about if not below retail with a few exceptions. It makes me glad that I started collecting the original items before the modern line started and I never heavily invested in the new stuff.
If you want to try a forum, rebelscum, has a modern classifieds section if you scroll down the page a bit. Really, the only way your friend will get top dollar, is if he sells individually or smaller lots.
