I think I messed up my genesis/MD
I had a working Genesis but you had to angle the power a specific way to get a connection. I opened the system and noticed the solder on the power connector was cracked and loose. I tried resoldering the connector and now the system won't power on at all. I unsoldered and resoldered it a couple more times just to make sure and it still won't power on. Any advise?

Sure you didn't accidentally bridge something while touching it up?

Yeah, I tried it a few different times to make sure.

What if you carefully apply power directly to the board contacts? Just make sure to get the polarity correct.

That's beyond my ability. I'm tempted to try a different connector from RadioShack or throw the metal pieces of the current one in some vinegar to get the corrosion off and see if that helps.

Re: I think I messed up my genesis/MD
i done something similiar where i solder something in the genesis and i thoguth it was dead since it didnt power up or anything. Anyways all i did was pretty clean up the mess i did and made sure it everything was back to normal and made sure i didnt make a bridge accidentally. And after i did all that it power back up and running again.
Question when you turn on the switch on the genesis does the system warm up at all, and you can tell this if you leave the plastic genesis cover off?

Yeah, the bottom of the power connector was warming up at first.
