I love my gamecube too. i actually play my gamecube more than my PS2 and XBOX combine. :)

Me too. I don't have an XBox, though. But my PS2 is basically just a DVD Player these days...

As for the whole matter.. Why harbour negative emotions about a piece of circuitry? I admit the Wii has little that interests me, and I'm not really the party type even though I do enjoy those games occasionally. I do understand a "traditional" game players' distaste of the Wii however.
When you say traditional game player are you meaning PS1 era and up? Because I find the Wii more for the traditional gamer which is regards to Atari and NES player. You pick up and play, easy to learn controls, and if your leading role is a pie graph that eats ghost who cares anything goes.

Frankly, I am tired of the unshaven dark haired serious leads in games today. I miss the weird unexplained characters. I want a dinosaur game with the lead a T-rex carrying a bazooka, driving a jet ski. I want videogame titles to be puns again, example: "Going Ape Spit" and "Caveman Ugh-Lympics" or weird title names example: "Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk". Do you think these titles would fly today? I wish they would.

I agree with Pephary. I think Wii is more akin to say NES era gaming. Back then everyone had a NES (that I knew). Even um... non-gamer types.

because mommy will only let them buy 1 console, and it turns out they didn't buy the most popular one?

I really don't know. I guess they are afraid that funds will go into making games for the Wii instead for their HD consoles. If only. 3rd parties should be banned from the Wii unless they plan to give it their best development teams and some good funds to make a worthy game.

I'm not sure you understand how a business works.

And you got that how? Stating his opinion is not stating business practices. You can know how something works and not agree with it.

Well back in the Nes days the Nintendo Seal of Quality didn't help much. Quite a few stinky games still got through. It also limited how many games a developer could make and how much they had to pay to Nintendo and that was not good for the business.
Thanks everyone...
