I agree. I enjoyed the Gamecube and have played some great titles on the Wii. There are some great games besides the first-party Nintendo games like MadWorld, Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes, Monster Hunter Tri, Tatsunoko vs, Capcom and while I agree with the hate on the Wii in regards to the amount of shovelware it does have great games if you look. :D

I adore my Gamecube, and while the Wii does seem a bit gimmicky (which has put me off buying it for a while), it does seem to have some genuinely original games on it that I look forward to digging into.

W.r.t hardcore gamers, it seems that anything that doesn't involve shooting arabs or russians right now isn't "hardcore"...

Sure they are more kiddie oriented than the xbox & ps3 but as a parent, that's why I like them and enjoy playing them. Personally, I think all consoles are great. At some point, I will pick up the xbox 360 & ps3.

Nintendo knows what it's doing since day one. Of course if your on the current top of the video game world there will be some haters involve no doubt. And yes, i think the gamecube was an underrated console in it's heyday. The fancy graphics of (and the library of PS2) XBOX and PS2 over shadow the cube. Thanks to the Wii, the gamecube library is still somewhat alive.

What does it mean to "hate on" anyway?

As for the whole matter.. Why harbour negative emotions about a piece of circuitry? I admit the Wii has little that interests me, and I'm not really the party type even though I do enjoy those games occasionally. I do understand a "traditional" game players' distaste of the Wii however.

I disagree with this faith of yours. Nintendo made some mistakes, but they had backup plans and their reputation that helped them overcome their mistakes.

N64 struggling? Pokemon to the rescue!
Gamecube last place? Wii and its mass market appeal saves the day!

Just a couple of examples.

I never owned a Game Cube because I listened to the haters. When I got my Wii I decided to give the Game Cube a try. It's one of the best consoles I've played. The games remind me so much of my old days with the Nes. It gave back what I lost so long ago. I now love the Game Cube. :D
Thanks everyone...

I'm a hardcore collector on both N64 and Gamecube. It's not a failure to me. :)
