I work in downtown Philly, and our building shares space with Comcast. I'll have to tell my buddy that works there about this and get his thoughts haha.

Is there a corporate ISP that is not generally hated by the public? I can't think of any. Either its a crooked industry where they all plan together or its a genuinely rough business to be in and never seems favorable.
The web's first video game public library! http://videogameexperiment.com rents all games for free and sells them for less than Ebay and Amazon! Plus we take anything in on trade-in.

Congratulations Comcast. Thanks to your threats to net neutrality, you are the most hated company in the world! You win the golden poop.
I really think it's the spotty service, absolutely atrocious customer service, and monopoly status that factored in a lot more than net neutrality. I voted for Comcast, and I'm actually closer to their side on the net neutrality issue.

I have. Just one of the various problems that I have had with them involved them turning off my cable "by mistake". My cable had gone out and I went the utility room of the apartment building that I lived in to check the situation. They were notorious for leaving the door open and I had problems in the past with a "neighbor" stealing my phone service and other stuff. I checked the cable connections, which btw was just a huge rat's nest of wires and splitters, and found that a terminator had been placed on the end of the cable headed to my apartment. When I called Comcast and verified that the bill had been paid and that there was no reason for them to turn off my service the person I talked to commented that a tech must have been out there cleaning up unused connections and killed mine by mistake. Of course, it then took another 3 days to get another tech out there to remove the terminator and reconnect my cable.

Add to that, their big push for HD service. They are constantly trying to get everybody to switch over to HD cable service. The only problem is they never seem to have any HD boxes available.

Fuck Comcast. Glad to see them win this award.

Their stance on net neutrality is just one factor among many making them deserving of the award.

wow! Same exact thing happened to me about 3 yrs ago! Weird. Though in their defense, they came and fixed it in 1 biz day. But still. Jeez.

My internet service with Comcast was spotty (I only had a functional connection 30-50% of the time). It took over two months and, like, six technician visits before they fixed it. I won't go into the details because it would take a lot of writing and would probably get me worked up, but the whole thing was terrible unprofessional. Between waiting on hold and waiting for techs (who were usually late, and one of whom pretended I was not home even though I was and live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment, and just left a message on my phone), the whole ordeal cost me quite a lot of time out of my life. When I called to cancel, the guy on the line insisted that no other provider could match Comcast's speed. He kept insisting this even after I explained that the speed I was currently getting from Comcast was 0.0 Kbps.

No one can match Comcast speed even though they throttle bandwidth? I hate that I still have no option other than them or no internet. I did cut my cable and phone though, basically. I kept the basic 20 channel offering because it was cheaper than internet alone. I have the feeling I would get those channels even without Comcast though.
