Rumor: Black Nintendo Wii Coming To North America in May

I don't know how many people will care about this other than me (since I don't own a Wii yet and have always favored the super sleek look of the Black Wii model which has only been available in Japan thus far), but according to Kotaku there are numerous reports that a black Wii model is finally coming to the States and Canada and that it will be bundled with Wii Sports Resort and the Wii Motion Plus add-on.

Yea we got this in Iceland a few months ago. The geniuses who run the only big electronics store thought naming it "The Black Beauty" would justify about a 50 dollar increase in price. too bad that didn't work.

I like the white one better.

The black version is cool, but I prefer the white one overall - just because all the game cases are white and so are most of the peripherals. I like it all to match up!

Perhaps there will be some internal updates (much like the Xbox 360 Elite). If so, I'll probably buy one at some point. I sold my Wii a couple years ago but promised myself I would buy another one when they come out in black and can play DVDs.
