There are many great games for them, like pikmin, paper mario, okami (OK, so its on the ps2 also, but you get to control it with the wii controllers), Zeldas, Metriod Prime, Donkey Konga, and A Boy and his Blob, just to name a few. Why hate on Gamecube and Wii?
Most hardcore gamers usually say the wii and gamecube suck, but I personally think they are great consoles! There are many great games for them, like pikmin, paper mario, okami (OK, so its on the ps2 also, but you get to control it with the wii controllers), Zeldas, Metriod Prime, Donkey Konga, and A Boy and his Blob, just to name a few. But there are so many other great games, and dont forget about the gameboy advance player and the virtual console.

i dont think those so called hardcore gamers ain't hardcore at all. Nintendo is where hardcore begun. Nintendo was and will always be the heart of hardcore gaming. Retro and Next Gen.

I hate Nintendo Wii AC adapter (simple N64 AC adapter design) and wii Senor bar gets all tangle up. Wii controllers should be completely wireless including the senor bar. VC controller should of had configurable gamecube games (you have buy a gamecube controller just to play gamecube games). Wii remote button layout design sucks for small buttons compared to past nintendo controllers (look at the old NES and gameboy big buttons). I do like new VC controller.
White console is fun, copy cat to Apple computers. I waited too long for those Color wii consoles still they forget about it. Over all there are some good Nintendo wii games except for those shovelware crap supply.
I wanted a Black/Red/green nintendo wii console.

Does the Gamecube get hate? I haven't noticed that. At least not recently. Maybe back when it was compared directly with PS2 and Xbox.

Yeah, about six years ago the Gamecube got a lot of flak, primarily because it "wasn't hardcore enough," "was too kiddy," "didn't play DVDs," etc. Two of those are the same crap we've been hearing people spout about Nintendo for a while, and they're both remnants of old Sega ad campaigns.J T wrote:Does the Gamecube get hate? Honestly though, it's not a bad console. And I do laugh about benderx's complaint on needing a Gamecube controller to play Gamecube games on a Wii. I guess Nintendo figured that, since you had Gamecube games, you likely had a Gamecube.

With how much it costs to be playing the latest and greatest on either an Xbox360 or PS3, I kind of understand the hate.
I mean, with a 360 (ballpark figure) You're talking about $400 bucks to get started. Even more with the PS3. And you're still paying a minimum $10 mark up at retail for new games that may or may not even be that good.
The Wii may not be a graphical powerhouse (though I think it's good enough) but it costs less and has software that is at least comparably enjoyable. All for about what an NES cost back in the 90's.
I know that if I spent that kind of money and someone else didn't, I'd want to insist that I'd made the better choice as well. Then again, I plan on buying a PS3 sometime soon. We'll see if maybe I catch the hate as well.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
