Once you learn to appreciate the pseudo-3D graphics the gameplay is so action packed and addictive it's hard to put down.
I just recently bought Space Harrier and a Mega Adapter (Master System adapter for the Mega Drive) and I'm expecting the Mega Adapter to arrive any day now. I will be experiencing the same thing as you very soon since I haven't played the Master System before either.

Get a Joystick and fire it up in MAME, it's far more fun that way.

Never been a big fan of joysticks... I missed the Arcade generation.

I'll share the love for Space Harrier as well. It was one of the first games I got for my sms,and still play it off and on. Still love the start screen too, it's so odd.

Because people got away with a lot more plagiarism back then. :P

For sure. They even used the Woolly Mamothcyclops without proper permission.

They had one of these in the arcade I worked at. I played it a few times and it was a pretty decent game. I think there was a sexy nurse character that carried a large syringe. Unfortunately the machine broke shortly after getting it and it was never fixed.

Painful. At least you got to try it, Thanks.
