Famicom GameBoy Micro but not 20th Anniversary edition?
I recently bought a Famicom GameBoy Micro from another forum member. It works great but it is not 20th Anniversary Edition. All of the references I could find for the Famicom edition is the special edition one. Did Nintendo make a Famicom edition of GBM that wasn't a special edition? Does anyone else have one?

looks like there were 2 famicom editions. One in Japan, one in the US.

The link you provided shows the US version as the 20th Anniversary edition. I have a US edition that is not the 20th Anniversary. I'll double check when I get home that it's not the Japan edition. On the back of the unit, it does NOT look like:noiseredux wrote: looks like there were 2 famicom editions. One in Japan, one in the US.

shrug. Don't know. I don't have a Micro. I just know that I found 2 on rfgen that seem to be Fami-themed.

I did some googling and reading of threads. I found a good one over here that show the differences:

The US edition lacks the Happy Mario on the back (which all of the 20th Anniversary pictures on the web seem to show) which was the source of my confusion.

What's also interesting is that for Japan/Europe, the serial number is embossed on the back as shown in these two pictures

But the US version is a sticker that has the number and a bar code.

Just for another reference, this says the US 20th Fami one lacks the stuff on the back too.

Very interesting. I (apparently) have the US version and didn't know the Japan one was any different. Thanks for the head's up.
