Red Heat RULES! Jim Belushi is great in it.
Been on a noir binge. Just watched double indemnity and chinatown.

Rewatched this today:

It's a pseudo-sequel to Rocky Horror. It's also credited as predicting reality TV, though star/director Richard O'Brien calls it "an abortion".

I'm taking a break from watching the Avatar DVD (not mine). So what was the crazy fuss about again? There's nothing here that hasn't been done before, better and in less screen time.
Nice graphics.

Expect more of the same as you finish it. Blech.Pulsar_t wrote:I'm taking a break from watching the Avatar DVD (not mine). So what was the crazy fuss about again? There's nothing here that hasn't been done before, better and in less screen time.

I'm going to admit that I enjoyed the last 30 minutes. Hey I watched Apocalypto and being close to Gaia those days hadn't exactly stopped us from becoming a race of genocidal maniacsLimewater wrote:Expect more of the same as you finish it. I wouldn't mention "Avatar" and "Apocalypto" in the same breath. "Apocalypto" actually had, you know, tension, suspense, excitement, and good storytelling.Pulsar_t wrote: I'm going to admit that I enjoyed the last 30 minutes. Just mentioned the latter for some historical context, not to compare the two. We were always like thisLimewater wrote:I wouldn't mention "Avatar" and "Apocalypto" in the same breath. OK. Fair enough.Pulsar_t wrote: Just mentioned the latter for some historical context, not to compare the two. We were always like thisThe sad part is not knowing whether intelligence―going by its current definition―would develop similarly on other planets.. Humans obviously never found lasting peace in Gaia.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499549/boa ... #161507141 << I agree with this critique. You might too.. Overall the message of the movie is flawed, but one sometimes has to wonder where it all went wrong.Limewater wrote:OK. I'm not expecting Avatar to live up to its hype, but given the fact that the whole planet has seen it I wanna see what all the fuss is about so I picked up a copy today. If it can at least be an entertaining waste of two hours, regardless of whether it lives up to the hype or not, I won't regret the purchaseLimewater wrote:Expect more of the same as you finish it. I also got a cheap copy of The Wrestler from my local Blockbuster during its closing out sale. I plan on watching it soon
