I do, cuz then you can download classic games for the DS.
But instead of N64 games, which may be too much, allow DS users to download games from the GameBoy family of consoles (GB classic, GB Color, GB Advance).
Aside from that, there'd still be NES, Super NES, Neo Geo, TurboGrafx 16, and other games.
Now, can you honestly say that that is a bad idea? And no, there should be no problems with it. I mean, there's more than enough power under the DSi's hood to allow upwards to 16-bit console games and GBA games at the most.
And also... any games bought for the Wii version of VC can also be played on the DSi, excluding GB-family and N64, cuz they're exclusive to the DS and Wii respectively.

i always thought this was going to happen since the dsi's features were announced. i would've owned a dsi by now if so in fact.

It's hard enough to emulate the N64. Dreamcast would be nigh-impossible. If they could, you can sure as hell bet they would have for the Wii already.
Also, I dislike the virtual console because you can't keep everything if the system breaks. If they made it more accessible, or something like steam, I'd perhaps use it.
If you want to play NES/SNES on your DS, get a card.

Same here. No real reason for me to upgrade to a DSi or DSiXL until Nintendo has a handheld VC. Thought this would have been a reality by now, hopefully the wait will be worth it.i always thought this was going to happen since the dsi's features were announced. i would've owned a dsi by now if so in fact.

One reason Nintendo wouldn't do this is none of the back catalog can take advantage of the dual screens, microphone, or touch screen offered by the DS.
One reason I'd care little if Nintendo did do this is that with the release of the 3DS looming in a year's time, I'm loathe to invest much more money into licenses that won't transfer to new hardware.
