Hey guys
So I'm looking into picking up an RGB modded US Turbografx, and was wondering how much it would need to be modified to fit the Super CD-ROM2.
I know it has the correct pinout on the back, but that the shape is not a perfect fit?
Anybody know?

Huh? Are you trying to put a PC Engine CD-ROM2 onto a TG-16? Or, did you just get your names mixed up?
Just buy a PC Engine Duo and you'll be all set to play any TG-16, PCE or Super CD game. If you just get the TurboCD add-on, you can't play Super CDs unless you get a System 3.0 card. You'll end up paying MORE in the end than if you just bought a PC Engine Duo.

Yes, the shape of the plug on the back is a bit different. It might be able to be hacked to fit, but I know there's someone that sells RGB modded Duos on ebay from time to time. But if you're going to get a good deal on the TG that's modded, I'd get the correct US CD unit and card. A Duo is generally a better deal, but the RGB makes it a wacky proposition. I wouldn't mix and match.

No mixup. The Turbografx is the easiest machine to find with RGB, and the Super CD-ROM2 with the built in System 3.0 card makes it the easiest no hassle piece. At least thats what I have gathered from all my info hunting.Breetai wrote:Huh? Are you trying to put a PC Engine CD-ROM2 onto a TG-16? Or, did you just get your names mixed up?
Well I was thinking more of the ease of use, than the somewhat unreliable CD-ROM2 (or so I've "heard") and shuffling the System card around.Hobie-wan wrote:Yes, the shape of the plug on the back is a bit different. I guess I'll just have to see if it works...
