Richard Morgan, who is a very good scifi author, has been hyping Crysis 2 in his own way for weeks now. Whilst I agree with his remarks about Halo's story being BS and the Big Mac analogy I really can't expect Crysis 2 to be the Neuromancer of fps games.
Is it a new marketing strategy to involve game writers in the media mayhem? Now excuse me while I try to finish reading Altered Carbon.
I think it's hypocritical for someone on the Crysis writing team to criticize Halo. The original Crysis had one of the most brainless, testosterone-pumped action movie wannabe scripts I've ever seen. It was fun to slaughter North Koreans in the jungle, but not once did I empathize with any of the characters, ever.
Morgan was only brought in for the sequel afaik.. Hopefully the whole story thing will prove more worthwhile. Crysis felt more like a tech demo, hopefully this will be a better fleshed out experience
