It's terrible what EA did with C&C 4 (Spoilers)

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

It's terrible what EA did with C&C 4 (Spoilers)

Post by BoringSupreez »

It was horrible. Kane decides tiberium is bad after all, and helps the GDI? The Scrin disappear with no explanation? Some of the units get a cartoony makeover? A unit limit of 9? No money system? No base building? A campaign the length of Halo 2's? Kane is actually an alien who just wants to go home? (Kane phone home.) No wonder it has a user score of 3.5 on Gamespot. This game makes Tiberium Sun look like an A+ game.

It's not automatically bad because it doesn't play like a C&C game, though. After all, Generals was great. It's the fact that it just stinks that makes it so awful. Now I'm going to have to pretend that C&C 3 was the last game in the series, so that I can take the story seriously. And hope for a much better re-do of C&C 4.

I suppose I shouldn't have expected too much from this game, after how Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3 turned out. They weren't bad, but they did betray a downward slope. I wish Westwood was still here.

I don't remember that part. I remember him using the Tiberium to activate the Scrin tower and ascending. As a side effect it causes Tiberium growth to rescind.
and helps the GDI?
If by help you mean dupe and use, then yes, he does.

This is hypocritical of me but where's the spoiler warning? Besides we already have a topic for all things C&C4.

Wow the plot is so implausible it almost sounds made up.

I think the very best in the series (from Dune 2 > C&C and Red Alert series) still remains as Red Alert 2 as the most fun, solid and good looking game; IMHO.

Yeah. Pretty much every game I've ever played had that same problem. They all sound made up. I don't think Mario is real, or Sonic, for that matter. A talking blue hedgehog? Yeah right.

Yes, that one stands out as a particularly good one in my memory. It was so fast paced and fluid.
