Super 8 (NES > SNES adapters) on eBay!

The Super 8 will allow you to play NES, Famicom, and Super Famicom games on your SNES. This adapter has also been called the Tristar or Tri-Star. I was able to find very little info on the web about it, and apparently they're some what rare.

It utilizes NES on-a-chip technology, so you can expect it to be as good as a clone console. I'm hoping that Akumajō Densetsu will be able to play on it with out many errors, but I figured for the price it'd be a good thing to pick up anyways.

The picture shows the adapter with a box, but who knows if it'll actually come with one. The item description is very short but the seller has good feedback. I'll post my results once I get it in, for any one that's interested.

Thanks for the link! I think I'll get one for the hell of it, although I hope it does come with a box. Do you think RGB would work for the Nes through this? It sounds too easy so I'm doubting it

I have read that this will work on any model of SNES, but haven't tested it myself.

It's a shame the SNES didn't come with NES compatibility out of the box. The SNES's CPU (65c816) is backwards compatible with the NES's 6502. This is how the 16bit Apple IIgs supports 8-bit Apple II software. There's no reason Nintendo couldn't have done the same thing.
