Well, kicking Ryu would really upset a lot of people. Like I said, it would be great to see them do the deal where he can change into Ken, Akuma and Dan like he did in MvC1. That actually gave me a reason to choose him. Shotos bore the hell out of me, but switching personas actually made him interesting.
As for Morrigan, I wish they would just change her moveset up. Aside from her command grapple, she's not much different from a shoto herself. It would also be cool if they gave her the ability to turn into Lilith mid-battle - and it actually makes sense.
Now, if they wanted to change Ryu and Ken's movesets, that would be great. And much needed. Get rid of Ryu's Hurricane Kick and get rid of Ken's Hadoken - and them replace them with something else. Maybe Ryu gets a command counter and Ken gets a Burning Knuckle type move.

Of course it makes sense and feels right - they have absolutely no weaknesses! They have an answer to anything you can throw at them!IcKy99 wrote: same here, their movesets just make sense to me and feel right
In my opinion, that ain't right. Every character should have a weakness that can be exploited.

Two characters that I really hope are in the game, but probably won't make the cut are Haggar and Nova.

I am pretty sure one of them that they can't make out is ether Tyrant or Nemesis.the7k wrote:http://kotaku.com/5518018/marvel-vs-cap ... characters
Some delicious art by Shinkiro reveals more characters. Captain America, Super Skrull, Chun-Li, Deadpool, Felicia, Dante, Frank West, Mephisto, Trish (from Devil May Cry) and Doctor Doom are apparently eyed by Kotaku.
I can definitely see Felicia, and that's more than enough for me (just hope she isn't absolute bottom tier like she was in Capcom Fighting Evolution). Deadpool is also one of the very few Marvel characters I care about, so that's a plus.

Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3. It's real.
The rumours that came out a while ago said that Capcom were going for a rather large cast this time around. Given the 56 characters from MvC2, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to trump that for MvC3 as part of the gimmick/marketing drive.the7k wrote:Well, kicking Ryu would really upset a lot of people. And if that assumption turns out to be true, then I'm pretty sure you can kiss goodbye the "change mid battle" concepts from MvC1. Much like MvC2 had characters that were quite close in their system (War Machine and Iron Man, Bone Wolverine and Adamantium Wolverine, Ryu/Ken/Akuma), I've got a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of the same sort of thing for the third outing.
But then again, I hope I'm wrong, and I hope they just reach into more Capcom franchises for characters, rather than just fighters. TvC showed they could take characters from some pretty unlikely games and still turn out a very fun fighter.
Re: Marvel vs Capcom 3. It's real.
I was hoping they'd go with a smaller roster, around 30 or so characters, and spend more time balancing.
To me, the super huge roster gimmick has kind of worn off since I found out the more characters you have, the less balanced it is. Of course, not saying every fighting game is like that.

Capcom's dealing with comic book nerds, here. They'll bitch and complain that X obscure super hero isn't in the game. I'm still pissed that Silver Surfer wasn't in MvC2. ...Veno wrote:I was hoping they'd go with a smaller roster, around 30 or so characters, and spend more time balancing.

Well, after Street Fighter IV, I honestly feel that Capcom doesn't really care about us anymore. They just want to appeal to the masses so that they can fill swimming pools with hundred dollar bills.
What do you think the masses will care more about: A well-balanced fighter, or 151 characters?
However, I do feel that with characters like Deadpool, Dante and Frank West already being hinted at, there will be very little room for people to complain even if we only ended up with around 16 characters. I am surprised to see no hints for Spider-Man or any other X-Men aside from Wolverine thus far, but I doubt that'll last long.
Honestly, the biggest issue I hope is resolved is the Assist issue. Namely, that Assists were entirely too abusable in MvC2.
I think assists could have been balanced in MvC2 simply with variable cool-down times. Depending on the assist, it takes longer to cool-down (CapCom's Anti-Air takes a lot longer than Dan's Autograph Special). Depending on the character you are currently using, it takes longer (While Roll can just spam assists rapidly, Sentinel would have to wait at least 5 seconds between assists). The more you use an assist, the longer it takes to cool down (each use adds 0.5 seconds to total cool-down periord).
