oh wait, I am the emo 15 year old, I am supposed to hate teachers. eh. Personally, it seems that all the teachers just left me alone once I got in high school.

Infact, I only got a detention once this year (In English I called the author of some book a faggot once I saw his picture, oops  )

I hated high school because of teachers who wouldn't leave me alone even when I just stayed out of the way. I switched schools in the middle of high school, and because of the differences in how they were run, I had a surplus of credits. Last semester of senior year I needed a total of 2 credits, one english and one...gym. I was already annoyed that I had to be there for 7 out of 8 periods just to get 2 credits, but I could only have one study hall, so I ended up with 3 classes I didn't need or want to be in. So I just sat in the back and doodled or slept. One teacher simply couldn't deal with this and would tell me to put drawings away or would not let me put my head down. The first week of class she sent me to the counseler to get me out of the class. Of course the counseler simply repeated, "you can only have one study hall" and so I took this information back to the teacher. She eventually started leaving me the hell alone. On the other hand I had an english class where all we did was sit and read the whole period, and then write a paper on each book we read. That teacher didn't ever ask me "where's your paper" or "why aren't you reading". I left everyone alone and he left me alone. Thank you Mr. whatever the hell your name was.

I loved high school. I mean LOVED it. All the courses were easy, got along with 95% of the teachers, and about 98% of the kids. Even the school cop and I got along really well, even though I had somewhat of a reputation. You weren't allowed to leave school grounds for lunch, but the cop always let me pass. The only thing bad about high school was that I got grounded a lot. But after classes, about 15 or so of my friends would come over to my parents house, almost every day to chill out, smoke, play video games, and make out in the basement. I even got the preps to hang out with, get this, black people.

I was very fortunate, right place, right time.

Right Place:
My High School in Oregon had a lot of vocational programs. Wood Shop, Drafting, Metal Shop, Welding and my favorite, Auto Shop.

Right Time:
School experimented with a Flex Day Program during my Junior and Senior years. Tuesdays and Thursdays were Flex days; student was allowed to attend classes they wanted to focus on or needed help in. Spent all day twice a week in the various shops, working on my '62 as well as buddie's cars welding glasspacks and tuning. Picked up a lot of skills while still in high school.

I didn't notice this thread until now and I'd love to write a big reply explaining my thoughts but Ziggy has already done that for me. It's not about rules or rank, it's about doing what's right. Doing the right thing may take more time or effort than simply giving up but it's important to stand up for what you know is right.

Does a school aged kid always know what's really "right"? I know I thought I did, but if I met myself when I was 16 I would probably hate me.
