Did you put the right KIND of laser in it? Remember, even though they may seem superficially the same, internally there are different kinds...

There is a KHS model and a PVR model AFAIK.

They are interchangable in the sense that they'll work (as in read games), but NOT INTERCHANGABLE in the sense that you will get nasty side effects (weird sounds, not spinning correctly, burned lasers)

Also, did you remember to solder off the antistatic point?
