Everyone has mentioned some great games, but I have to be the first one to give some respect to Mario's Picross and Picross DS. Those games are wonderful (and quite challenging).

Also, for everyone here that loves the Adventures of Lolo games, I must recommend Mole Mania for the GameBoy. It is Shigeru Miyamoto's lost masterpiece, and finding it for a few dollars at a pawn shop is what prompted me to start a GameBoy collection.

Finally, I have heard that Henry Hatsworth & the Puzzling Adventure is good, but I have not played it yet.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is probably my favorite puzzle game of all time. Seriously, I would have given that title to Tetris without thought for nearly 20 years. And then I got Puzzle Fighter.

It seems like when people say puzzle games, they usually mean matching shapes or colors as they fall from the top of the screen. For something different, try Kwirk and Amazing Tater on the GB. There you're pushing around blocks in a screen full of holes and gates trying to clear a path from one end to the other. No time pressure, and lots of planning. That's what makes a good puzzle game.

If you like 'block pushers' then you should try this game out...

Little Magic - Super Famicom (100% playable for non-Japanese speaking people if you wish to import a copy). There's a translation patch which translated the little amount of story to the game (while the rest was already in English).

JT and Lisa, you might find it similar to Lolo.

My all time favorite puzzle game would have to be Bust-a-Move 4 on the Dreamcast. Can't get enough of it!

Also love:

Land Maker-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbgD0RHPl7o
Critter Crunch
Peggle
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Puyo Puyo Fever

Can't wait to try out The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom here soon.
