Feel like I got my 3 bucks worth out of Asteroids and Shao-lin's, but Finalizer was damn hard. I'll go back to it at some point though.
When the gap until late April was first announced I didn't think it would be a huge deal, but five weeks is a LONG time when you're talking about games you play for just minutes at a time. It was definitely a mistake.
I haven't been on GR for about a week - have the server issues been fixed yet?

It's seems a little smoother but it still has issues.

Latest report is that the update is due on the 28th, not 29th, according to Major Nelson. This could be wrong though, because he also lists Tecmo Bowl Throwback coming out the 29th for XBLA...That's a Thursday, and XBLA games come out Wednesday...
The games have also been announced as Super Breakout, Pitfall!, Megamania, Night Stalker, Rack 'Em Up, Realsports Volleyball, Basketball.

Re: Game Room for Xbox 360: virtual arcade + avatars
I commented recently about how the Konami arcade cab artwork sucked (non-existent, really)...well, I came across this pre-release footage:
A user surmised that Stern (the distributer/publisher in most/all cases) owns the artwork, and apparently a deal could not be reached.
They're getting $0 from NOT including their artwork on virtual cabs, whereas they could be getting >$0. Makes perfect sense to me...

Oh that is just ridiculous. Seriously, what is Stern doing these days? Are they just wallowing in those fat pinball revenues??

I'd bet they're teetering on the brink of oblivion...
Re: Game Room for Xbox 360: virtual arcade + avatars
List of games being released on the 28th...
* Super Breakout (Atari)
* Pitfall! (Activision)
* Megamania (Activision)
* Night Stalker (Mattel Electronics)
* Rack 'Em Up (Konami)
* Realsports Volleyball (Atari)
* Basketball (Atari)
Well....Pitfall is cool.
The one Konami game is a stupid ass billiards game. *sigh* At least this is a weekly event now. Hopefully they release some really good stuff soonish.

I may get Pitfall since I have fond memories of it on my Intellivision... but everything else is very meh.Octopod wrote:List of games being released on the 28th...

Yeah, Pitfall and Combat are kinda worth it just for the novelty factor alone. If a few friends want to mess around with Pitfall while hanging out at my place one evening, that's probably worth a few bucks even if I never re-visit it.
Agreed about the weekly releases. At least we only have to wait 7 days to try new stuff now.

Eesh. Still won't be getting any games for this. When they finally release something worth buying I'll buy one.
