Solid gameplay mechanics and great visuals, although not as good as the GoW series it's way better than Dante's Inferno in my opinion, and didn't receive a fraction of that game's marketing campaign. Don't go out of your way to play it, but grab it if you get the chance.

I enjoyed Conan but I am a fan of anything Conan. The quick time events blow though.

Is this a no Wii or DS allowed topic since its in Sony and Microsoft? Or are they not considered current gen?

Battle Fantasia is the game that came to my mind. One of the better, not best, JPN 2D fighters to come over here in the US. Knew nothing about the game till CAG posted it for $10 w/ FS @ Newegg about 6 months ago.

It seems the value has gone up since then but still worth a look ...

Yeah, I managed to grab Sega Rally and Battle Fantasia at Hollywood Video this past weekend as they're closing all the Texan stores and clearancing everything.

Anyways, GET EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 2012. It clearly appears to be a budget looking title but don't let that fool you! It's insane fun and if you have a friend on hand the local co-op just adds to the awesome.

of course they are current gen dude. Cause otherwise what? We'll be comparing the DS with the N64 and the PSone and Saturn? Cause the DS kicks every one of thoses' ass just for being portable.

Current gen imo = PS360/Wii + DS/PSP + PC (DirectX9/10/11)

If only there's a reliable source for sales figures. No need to include titles that sold 500k copies for instance.

If ds is allowed, then I'd loke to add Bleach:Dark Souls. It is a great 2d fighter for ds developed by Treasure and published by Sega :D

I've got a few copies of this game, haven't played it yet though. Swapped one of my copies for the excellent Vampire: The Masquerade though.

well if we're going for current gen, i'll throw out some wii titles now, and add a lot more wii and DS titles when i get home from uni.

For Wii, Little King's Story and Zack and Wiki are two must own games imo. The little King has a Big story, which should last a good 50 hours or so of gameplay. The gameplay is similar to pikmin, although slightly less refined in its control. However, this is not a big problem, and as you play you'll find that it even has many reasons to recommend it over pikmin (which itself is one of my favourite games).

Zack and Wiki is a clever point and click game which uses the wiimote pretty well. Its funny, quirky and colourful, but not necessarily easy, as some of the later puzzles are a real headache, in a good way. The on thing that can put a lot of people off is the way you can die in the game, meaning you have to restart the puzzle from scratch, but its not too big an issue on most stages imo.

I do realise that despite not selling much, these games are fairly well known, so i hope this is the sort of stuff your looking for still.

Batman Forever 64

I would say Demon's Souls, except that it somehow got popular. Even if I could go back in time and tell my past self it would be a run-away success, my past self wouldn't be stupid enough to believe that.

Other than that... maybe Disgaea 3 and Way of the Samurai 3. I wouldn't call them hidden gems - just ignored above average games. I'll also say that Ultimate Shooting Collection on the Wii is a sadly overlooked game. I'll expect Fragile Dreams to share a similar fate.

If we're including downloadable games, I'll put down Thexder Neo, Comet Crash, Mushroom Wars, Burn Zombie Burn, and Critter Crunch.
