Hello,
Can any one please summarize for me what is going on between Activision and Infinity Ward?
I know some one will tell me to google it, but I don't want to do my own research of 20 articles to get the idea. Just 3 lines will do
The Activision issue
Re: The Activision issue
IW contract with Activision runs out soon
Activision want them to make another MW before it does
Activision have hardly paid IW anything for MW2
IW are walking
How I would sum it up from what I have read.

Re: The Activision issue
People need to start self publishing imo.
Re: The Activision issue
Pretty much what em said. Zampella and co are owed millions of dollars in royalties for the creation of the game. They've walked out and are in the processing of suing activision for their money.
In the mean time they've set up a studio (ironically) with EA being the publisher. However, they're EA Partners and not a subsidiary of EA which gives them the much needed freedom that they didn't have the first time around when they defected the first time over the Medal of Honour series. Their new studio is called Respawn (I think).
Oh yeah, and look forward to Modern Warefare 3 which is due out next year according to Activision... Think I'll just avoid that completely. I have a feeling it's going to be buggy as shit and just be a complete piece of crap like all of Activisions 'non-infinity ward' output has been for the last couple of years.
Activision, ruining franchises since 2005.

Re: The Activision issue
Whenever I see people hating on Activision, it reminds me of EA a few years ago. I guess hating EA just got old, and was time to move on.

Ironic considering when they left corporate Atari as an independent in the 2600 era.Niode wrote:Activision, ruining franchises since 2005.
