CycloDS and EZ Flash 3-in-1 Qs
I have a CycloDS Evolution slot-1 device which I have been able to use very successfully. But today, I received an EZ Flash 3-in-1 which has me stumped. When I select the "Boot from Slot 2" option under Options/Misc, I get the message "A compatible Slot 2 device was not found." Why is this? Is EZ Flast 3-in-1 not compatible with CycloDS? Is there another issue? Please help me play GBA roms

With the EZ Flash 3-in-1 all you need to do is put your gba roms in with you nds roms (on the micro sd card) in the cyclo DS. Then just select the gba rom from your cyclo menu and it will boot.
Re: CycloDS and EZ Flash 3-in-1 Qs
If you put the .gba files on the slot 1 card, you can use the Cyclo DS menu to just launch them from there. By default, they will launch from the non-permanent memory in the 3-in-1 - so each game you start will take a little bit of time to write into the 3-in-1, then it starts.
Using the "permanent" memory:
If you press "SELECT" you can change into the permanent memory (I think it is NOR memory; when I say permanent here it means it stays there when you turn the system off, but it can be erased and some other game written into it afterwards).
In this case when you launch the GBA game, it will write the thing into the 3-in-1 - this takes a while the first time, but subsequently the game will launch instantly. Also, by doing this you can in principle boot from the slot 2 without having the Slot 1 device in the DS at all, and similarly you can run a DS game and use the slot 2 as a de-facto GBA game for the purpose of some things (there are some DS games that give you extra things if you have certain GBA games inserted - for example, Megaman Battle Network 5 Double Team will let you put in a Boktai 2).

I put my GBA roms on my CycloDS but it still would not launch. It then tells me that a compatible slot-2 device was not found. Any more suggestions???

Sounds like it's not recognizing the slot-2 cart. Maybe you have dirty contacts? Try removing & reinserting the cart? If it doesn't work, then you'll have to clean them.8-bit Legend wrote:I put my GBA roms on my CycloDS but it still would not launch. It then tells me that a compatible slot-2 device was not found. Also, update the firmware of the Cyclo DS (if you haven't). I think earlier firmwares didn't support the 3 in 1 very well. The 1.55 firmware I think is the latest.
As biker said above, be sure that the cart is properly inserted.
A good way to check is to see if the rumble or memory expansion is working properly. You enable rumble also through the Cyclo DS - in the right-most option of the Cyclo DS menu, which is the options, there should be a line where you can set rumble to low, mid or high (apparently high is way too strong though).
