Netflix on Wii

I searched for Netflix and Wii and nothing came up so I thought I'd post. I received my installation disk in the mail today. Now I will be able to watch Netflix on the Wii as other systems are able to do. Well, at least I think so. I am not sure how the others work, but this disk you have to keep in your system while using Netflix. I haven't done it yet, but might mess around with it tonight or tomorrow. It makes me nervous because of how slow the Wii's internet browser is. Maybe keeping the disk in helps with speed. Anyone try this out yet?

I received mine in the mail today , and it seemed to work great. It was really no different ( to me anyway ) than using my xbox 360 , which is the usual netflix machine around here. I think its pretty cool especially cause I'm more likely to travel with the wii than xbox , so can be handy for get-togethers too.

I checked it out on PS3, and I ordered the Wii disc for the hell of it (a what if type of deal). Honestly, I'll probably never use either. I have my PC hooked up to my HDTV and I've been watching movies instantly on Netflix for a while now. There's no benefits of doing essentially the same thing with my PS3 or Wii, just drawbacks since using my PC is easier. I'll keep the discs in case my computer is every down and I absolutely HAVE to watch something from Netflix, but that's just about the only time I'll use it. Maybe if my TV ever ends up too far away from my PC.

It's a GREAT option for Netflix users that do not have a TV hooked up to their computer though.

I got my disc in the mail today as well. I'll probably mess with it a bit, as its a nice option, but the HD streaming Netflix available on the 360 is what I'll keep using in the long run.

I got mine in the mail today as well. It works pretty well but without HD my Xbox 360 is still going to be my main Netflix streaming device.

Just finished installing it. I will give a review for those who may not have another system capable of streaming Netflix. I usually watch instant Netflix stuff on my laptop with a separate speaker hooked into the headphones jack. nothing fancy, but it was certainly okay. Better if using my headphones, which are a pretty high quality, but make my ears sweat! haha. Horror movies with the headphones on, however, make me jump out of my shorts. Anyhoo. I am not sure how the Wii Netflix compares feature-wise to the service on the 360 or PS3 - sounds like they are pretty similar, but questions I have are, is a disk required for the others and is there a search feature that allows you to type in titles? Also, can you sort search results like you can online, by genre, rating, etc.?

I have to say, on my old ass Magnavox, the sound and picture quality is great! Even better than the movies I usually watch on demand. The remote is very easy to use for the entire process and everything works incredibly fast. I am extremely impressed. Again, I was very disappointed by the speed of the Wii's internet browser so I was worried about the quality of Netflix, but I have no issues. I am happy that I can view my instant queue from online - I had been worried you would just have limited movies to search through, but the full selection seems available. I guess not the FULL selection as whenever I click on a genre it seems to give 100 movies max. That is why it would be nice to have the ability to sort by rating or something so that you can get the 100 highest quality movies. Still, I am super excited to watch Heros on the TV with my wife. We have been watching the first season online and it bothers my eyes after a while. This is funny since I figure the computer screen is supposed to be a higher quality than my crappy old TV, but it causes worse eye strain... so anyone who does not care about HD (I don't have the capability so the lack of HD doesn't matter) or only has a Wii and not one of those OTHER systems (joke), I would recommend checking this out. Certainly great if you have people over and don't feel like crowding around a computer.

The wii version is actually really good, about DVD quality. The buffering time and such are about the same as the PS3 and 360.

I also noticed that on some movies the wii version causes less eye strain. Motion looks smoother, though the image isn't as sharp. Maybe the HD version was encoded poorly? Cause it happens on my pc, xbox and ps3 but not on the wii.

If anybody has a modded Wii setup, and doesn't want to keep the Netflix disc in the drive, you can just use a USB Hard Drive loader, and copy it there.
