I grew up playing Final Fight on my SNES, but I also enjoyed a game of Streets of Rage 2 on my older cousin's Genesis every now and then. Both games are great IMO, but Final Fight takes the cake for me. It just has more memorable characters in my eyes.

For the record though, I still think that Aliens vs Predator Arcade is better than both of them.

How the hell has that game not seen a port?

Oh, and another beat'em up that I forgot to add to my previous list. Three Dirty Dwarves on the Sega Saturn is an AWESOME beat'em up. Also, extremely underrated.

Only because those two series are so overrated. Streets of Rage especially. People always talk about that series like they are the best beat'em ups ever and Streets of Rage 2 is the best beat'em up ever made. I respect the place both SOR and Final Fight have in beat'em up history, but if I made a best of beat'em ups list, neither series would even be on it. Neither would any Double Dragon game, though again, that series has its place in history, but not every classic stands up to the test of time
