for sega genesis, do you collect just carts or the full game

So far all i got all carts but i want completes what bout you guys?
Just the opposite for me. Most of my games were complete, and now all I care about are the carts. Alot of this has to do with these facts:
* I rarely/never use the manuals,
* There are great cover sites that have universal game case covers, so you get a nice consistent look for your library ( and for DVD games, I can convert the covers to slim case for extra space saving).
* Complete games are much more expensive compared to cart/disc only.
So long as the cart isn't goobered in food or bodily fluids, I'm ok.
Re: 20+ dollars for a complete, but not great, Toejam and Earl, vs. a 99 cent cart only with 3 dollar shipping. Easy choice for me.

I never collected the cases as a kid but now I would like to, I dont know why. I love for my case and instructions to be in the best shape ever, even tho some games I have are not like that. I remember as a kid having a sega game cart holder. I wish I still had it. I was looking online to buy one but never found one. If any one knows where to get one please let me know.

Almost only full version case and cart. If I am hunting specific titles or see a decent game with instructions and case for between $5-10 I will usually buy it. I wouldn't mind carts if I somehow ran into a large lot of them. Never really seek them out though, the design and cases for Genesis racked up looks awesome. My goal is to feel like I'm at the rental store as a kid
btw......I noticed I am "24bit" in the forums. kick ass Neo Geo!

Can you please put a link to some of the sites that you mentioned that have universal game case covers. I remember about a month or so ago you ( or at least i think it was you) posting a really cool Jet grind radio cover.

We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
I think this is the best one: http://www.thecoverproject.net/Droid party wrote:durkada wrote:Just the opposite for me. Most of my games were complete, and now all I care about are the carts. Alot of this has to do with these facts:

You can also use: http://www.cdcovers.cc/
Cdcovers is really just good for that, cd covers and jackets. Even then, they don't really maintain any quality standards so its iffy if you'll find anything worth using. Coverproject,I can't recommend enough. It encompasses alot of different systems, insists on high quality material, and seems to gravitate towards the universal game case. Its by no means complete, so, if you find something you are missing, download the template and up one
Same here.extrarice wrote:I like getting complete packages when I can. The artwork, and any pack in materials, are interesting to me. They provide an insight into the gaming culture of the time.
But some of those games with cardboard boxes are quite hard to find in good condition.

Thanks mate that site is awsome, I've already downloaded a bunch of them. Now I guess I'll just have to dig out a printer to start printing some out.
