Paying for an OS, regardless how flashy it looks or how much bloatware it contains, really does sound silly in this day and age. I use VLK but even that scheme isn't free.

I am considering taking it back and getting the 1005HA instead.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Eee+ ... Id=9705424

It has the slightly older CPU and only a 160 GB HD but it has Windows XP home so atleast it has a whole OS. Hell, I would even get $50 back that I could use to upgrade to 2 GB ram. From what I have read the CPUs seem to perform about the same and I do not think I would need more than the 160 GB HDD. We'll see, I have 10 more days to decide.

Great browser but I think the Youtube videos might still give you very choppy headaches. My 500 Mhz iMac doesn't work on videos too well unless they are the older smaller video size. But on the plus side you are going to less bloated WIN XP which might run programs faster on your Netbook. Have you checked FRYs? They have pretty good prices.

Ouch, lost a good toy store. I discovered FRYs years ago in the Bay Area, where they started I think.
Now all over CA. At least you have an option on your Netbook.
