I love this series and feel it's always been overlooked. This made my day

yeah that was pretty cool. And I'm glad that they're at least hinting at some non-PC game articles again. I feel like it's been nothing but PC point-n-clicks for MONTHS!

Huh, looks like a pretty interesting game. I might have to give it a try sometime.
Ugh, that's been driving me crazy. You can literally scroll down the page and that's at least 95% of the recent games they've reviewed since like forever.noiseredux wrote:yeah that was pretty cool. no kidding. It's weird. But what can I say? They have some of the best video game articles ever penned, er um... typed. I mean, let's be frank, my blog is basically just a rip-off of hg101 that only mentions Game Boy (which hg101 tends to hate anyway, haha).Dylan wrote:Huh, looks like a pretty interesting game. No objections there, the site does a great job uncovering overlooked games, though that's of course hit and miss.noiseredux wrote:no kidding. It's weird. But what can I say? yeah. It definitely is. But I've certainly found some amazing AMAZING weirdo lost games thru them. SO much props. Plus they are thorough as hell. Definitely one of my favorite vg blogs. But yeah -- bring back the console games!!Dylan wrote:No objections there, the site does a great job uncovering overlooked games, though that's of course hit and miss.noiseredux wrote:no kidding. They're not perfect, I don't always agree with their write ups and it can take them ages to updates sometimes, but I still like what the site represents, much like Racketboy. It's an education for people who don't really know about games beyond Halo, Grand Theft Auto, sports games and insert name of greyish/brown shooter here.
Now, I'm not a PC guy, but point and clicks are pretty much the ONLY PC games I play these days, assuming I do any PC gaming at all. I had a lot of fun with the SCUMM games last year, so I don't mind a little point and click coverage. I agree with you guys though, I'd rather they stick to console games. I have always viewed console gaming and PC gaming as two completely separate things and I'm a console gamer
Anyway, the Deception series is awesome. I have all three installments.

exactly! Like I said, usually they're touching on Game Boy ports is just "a Game Boy version was released. It was black and white and not as good." But still, the concept and effort is fantastic.Gamerforlife wrote:They're not perfect, I don't always agree with their write ups and it can take them ages to updates sometimes, but I still like what the site represents, much like Racketboy.

Hey, after reading the last part of that feature, I find out there is a PS 2 installment I didn't know about. I'm gonna have to get that. Awesome!

I've been loving the PC focus HG101 has had for a while. Console games get all the love from sites like this. It's been nice seeing these PC adventures and RPGs get their due. At least they're not just covering Doom or Myst. And it wasn't too long ago that they covered Suikoden.
As for Deception. This is the first I've heard of it. It looks.. unusual.
