3DO not reading discs

I just picked up a used 3DO FZ-10 and its not reading normal music cds, I don't actually own any 3DO games, but I know it should read music cds too, I will get some games as soon as I know it will work. The 3DO screen goes on, but it just says "insert disc". I tried several different non-scratched cds and still nothing.

On the bottom the manufacture date says it was made in December 1994. I already cleaned the laser also. It kind of sounds like a cd drive problem because it doesn't sound like it spins the disc. Can anyone please help me?

are you using the controller and pressing anything
im asking because i might have the same problem

I don't press anything, it automatically goes to the screen and says "press X to start storage manager" and "insert disc". This is a strange problem I hope one of us finds out whats wrong.

clean the laser very gently.
move the laser to the outer edge gently
start the system and see if the laser moves.

I think you can adjust the pot for the laser on the 3DO if it's getting weak. I can't recall.

i some how found a manual then accidentally deleted it
but i remember to play cds you press the play button
located where the start button on most controllers are
supposedly copied cds might not play good or at all

oh did that last thing work
