If it ran OS X it would have been an instant buy from me. Being able to use Logic Pro (and it's interface customisation features) and running Max/MSP with a touchscreen would have been irresistible. Running the iPhone OS... no thanks, I already have a device that does that, why would I want another one?
What does Mac OSX do that the iPhone OS doesn't do? I've only used Mac OSX at schools, so I don't know much about it. I thought that the iPhone OS was just a stripped down Mac OSX.
It doesn't install/run OS X apps.

many sites use flash-based applications these here days
not to mention games....

funny how Adobe didn't implement it from scratch, no?

.... but

if you buy Adobe CS5, you can "convert" old flash to "new flash"

<sarcasm>
fortunately Adobe CS are usually really cheap

The reason why:

Most of the iPhone Apps can be done with free Flash apps.

Not any more, OS4 is going to disable all foreign compilers (CS5 Flash, Unity, etc). Also it wasn't Adobe that didn't put Flash on iPhone OS. Apple kept flash off it it. Which I'm fine with considering Flash is a piece of shit. The iPad runs HTML 5 games quite nicely though. :D

Flash is shit, but Apple's way of getting rid of it is pretty ham-handed.

I agree. Really, it would have been smarter had they just had built a great compiler for HTML5 content and discouraged Flash use. Everybody I know hates Flash, but unfortunately, there hasn't really been an alternative until now.

If web-developers would move away from the piece of shit that is flash for their games/shitty menu systems, and use the open HTML5 (which can do everything that flash can do and then some) then you wouldn't have an argument. The iPad/IPhone is fully compliant.

If you don't know anything about OS X please refrain from replying to such matters in future.

Unfortunately, they haven't.

Maybe I missed something, but what matters? I asked if there was anything that OSX could do that iPhoneOS couldn't do and I even said that I thought the iPhoneOS was a stripped down Mac OSX. You said it didn't, I linked to http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/ and you replied with:

The rest of my posts in this thread were about the iToilet and the iPad/Phone's lack of Flash. Again, did I miss something? :? Also, I do know a little bit about OSX.

This would be better.

Well, there is Silver/Moonlight. I don't really know how good it is, though.

I have no idea what you are talking about but iPhone OS and OS X couldn't be further apart. One is an open operating system with no limits on how you use it, one is a closed operating system where all apps have to be downloaded and sync'd through Apple's iTunes platform. Aside from the glossy looks the 2 platforms couldn't be further apart.
