Opening links in new tab on RacketBoy Forums?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

You, my friend, couldn't be more wrong about this. Many forums I have visited have links open in a new tab, this is one of the few that doesn't. The tabs are a browser feature, but opening links in new tabs is not.
You mean appending target="_blank" to all the <a> tags. Or more correctly for XHTML compliance:

Code: Select all

<a href="page.html" onclick="window.open(this.href); return false;">page</a>
.

You could append the PHP files to do such a thing, and there's probably PHPBB3 mods out there to do it for you. What I can't understand is why you can't just hold one button and click with your mouse? Most browsers will allow you to open all links in a tab or a new window. It's a browser function.
First, I usually only use one hand.

Second, opening ALL links for everything in a new tab is a browser function. However, the site can still control this as default.

I own a mouse, but if I'm not at my desk I use my trackpad. I usually use one hand for computing and one for eating chips or something. This leaves me with one hand.

If I change the setting then if I want the link the open in the same tab I'm in the situation (i.e. most of the time I'm browsing a site). A website should have the open link in new tab default on things it should be on (i.e. leaving the main site to check out a video, etc.)

Don't cut off the man's Pringles not enough fingers, maybe a toe? :D
Sorry couldn't resist, but yeah, you can set Firefox to open all new tabs.
Myself, I prefer just 1 tab, if I need another simply hold that shift or command key.

I'm the first one to notice this typo?
It's not a typo. I just tried it and it works.

Now I gotta go take a dump...

It would be more convenient to have, but in the end, I don't think all the hard work should be put towards it.

All I do is click the link with the scroll button, or I guess it's called a scroll wheel. I didn't know many people did the right click thing.

This is what I do, update your browsers, middle mouse > new tab has been in Firefox for ages.

I keep getting the max users error every now and then. Doesn't the server time out users' sessions?

I use a Macbook Pro and I have no problems whatsoever with holding CMD with my ring finger and then clicking on a link. I would be very surprised if you couldn't hold the Shift button with your pinky and then clicking.

Too popular a site!
I sometimes run ito that too.
Good idea on the time out if user is inactive, keeping session open.
