would you prefer the word asshole? dickhead? elitist retard? i could go on perhaps you should aspire to help others rather than putting them down when something they happen to enjoy breaks, or if you have nothing informative to say then stfu
My saturn broke too man. I feel your pain, it really is frustrating. Insulting members won't help though, so try to chill. Members will offer their advice if they can.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen ANYONE attack Hobie. Let me tell you something, Hobie-wan is one of the most helpful members of these boards. You really need to watch who you are insulting here, because anyone who has spent any time here at all would know that Hobie is nothing but respectful and helpful.
Maybe dedalusdedalus's comment in particular wasn't helpful, but its not like he attacked you or anything. You really need to calm down at this point, because based on the way you are acting now, you probably won't get any help here in the future.

Right, I thought dedalusdedalus' comment was a joking response to my somewhat serious comment. I could have taken it personally and made a snide comments but I didn't.
The best advice I could give anyone for internet forums is "Don't take things personally" and often times, it's best to ignore comments/posts that you might bother you.
To the OP, if you're able to fix your broken power supply by replacing some resistors/components, then that's great and I hope you're successful with it.

For the record, gtmtnbiker, I didn't intend that as a joke at your expense. I thought your point about not overblowing a post by writing "help" everywhere was valid, and I was riffing off that. Sorry about that, gtmtnbiker.
The OP's rage was grossly and unfairly misdirected at Hobie. He gave a useful assessment of the situation and good advice.

Ah I see. No offense was taken by me. As you all probably know, it's very easy to misconstrue what someone says in email or forum posts so I always try to assume the positive side.
you know what, i feel the need to apologize, my words were harsh and unnecessary. its been a rough several weeks for me, my ps3 had died and is off being fixed, having another system break on me was a giant kick in the balls. i apologize to anybody here whom i may have offended
Re read the replies we gave. You might luck out and those 3 components might have died to save everything else. But there could be more damage than you can see. Give replacing the the bits a go. If that still doesn't work try another power board if you have or can borrow one. If it still doesn't work try to inspect the other boards for damage. Hopefully you'll be lucky but a power supply blowing up is pretty bad.
